, sean hannity, they will attack fox news. now they are directly attacking the american people. strategically, it does not seem wise to me. what do you think the fallout will be? >> i think there will be a huge backlash because they misunderstand the roots of this movement. it is not something directed from the top down. the republicans can only wish that they could've been so competent to have seen this coming. nobody saw it coming except the people on the ground, people on the internet. fox news was treating the tea party movement with respect while others were denigrating these people -- i have been to many of the tea parties. many of them are independent. many of them are disgusted with republicans and democrats. they want what obama promised but failed to deliver, transparency, at the, fiscal responsibility, and personal responsibility. if robert gibbs and rahm emanuel and the chicago machine think it will do them well in 2010 to keep smearing these people, go ahead. sean: strategically, tactically, it seems almost idiotic to attack the american people. you look at these v

administration. that story coming up. sean: tonight on hannity's mesh, with the unemployment rate soaring the white house has decided to do its part. sort of. harper's magazine is reporting that if you want to be an ambassador in the obama administration it will cost you roughly $500,000 in political contributions. ambassadors are being installed now worldwide and some are so controversial some countries, like germany, are even refusing to sign off on them for the job. and with the universal nightmare looming, new polling data is showing that most americans are actually happy with their health care coverage and want democrats to back off. take a look at this rasmussen poll which shows a sharp improvement in how americans view the health care system. and 80% of those polled rate their coverage add good or excellent. an 11% increase in only a year. i have an idea. instead of weastding a trillion dollars on health care reform nobody wants, why not just give everybody a tax cut in and tonight the waste 101 update features some of the tiniest cities. ouzinkie, alaska, has 165 people. no scores

of that plus a very special live visit to the valley hope forgot. hannity starts right here right now. another day, and another democrat is held accountable by you, the american people. today, that democrat was senator arlen specter and he proved just as incapable of handling the frustrations of ordinary americans as all the democrats who came before him. the event reached the tipping point when a man rose to confront the senator. look at how specter reacted. >> you want to be -- you want to be led -- you want to be led out of here? you are welcome to go. now wait a minute, now wait a minute, now wait a minute. wait, wait a minute: wait a minute, wait a minute. wait a minute. wait a minute. you want to leave? leave. sean: he wasn't going to allow the senator to shout him down. here's what happened next. >> well, i got news for you, you and your cronies in the government do this kind of stuff all the time. well,. animus against the man. sean hannity is a republican. it is obvious that he does not like president obama. and thinks his policies are bad. but, in totality, with shepard smith coming at 7:00. with bret baire coming at 6:00, you have a presentation that's not overtly hostile to president obama. what we -- what the contention is is that we glorify the protesters. but that's bull. we just don't demean them like all the other networks do. so i'm trying to get in my mind why the obama people don't see this as a negative toward them. a fight with fox hurts them. helps our ratings, hurts their ratings. but they continue, i think, to make an issue of it. >> well, i mean, the one time during the presidency was the one interview did with john harwood. now, i know other cable networks when they hear the president say cable chatter think the president is talking about them. many think the president is talking about us. during one of his recent town meetings, he said, you know, if you go across cable and you stop your remote at a certain channel you know you hear critical things. bill: of course that

to identify the people with the legislation. >> savannah, we saw rush limbaugh, among others, sean hannity as well, begin in fact to criticize the notion that some democrats would call on other democrats to support ted kennedy's legacy and pass health care reform. do you expect that call will be made more formally for democrats and even some republicans? if so, do you think it will be effective? do you think he will have a gipper like opportunity? i have to ask you to hang on one moment. mark sanford is speaking, lieutenant governor has formally called on him to resign. sanford rejected that yesterday but we're going to hear what he has to say right now. >> i wanted to very briefly offer a couple of comments in light of a letter that we sent, our office sent back to david thomas yesterday. it really fits in this larger category of the response i gave yesterday to andrew bowers letter to my office in which in that letter i basically said two things. i said, one, let's not make decisions based on hyperbole, media accounts. let's make decisions on facts. two, when one looks at facts we have a
limbaugh and sean hannity and george bush are at greater risk of assassination van barack obama. >> guest: as a fun part of the book. in the last chapter i point out i wouldn't have mentioned it if they haven't brought it up so much other ad campaign you keep hearing about this unique rest of, is that being assassinated because he is black in and this is unlike any other president or any other presidential candidate in the call in for a special secret service protection and article about i'm so worried review it and there was some liberal in britain sank in the is elected he will be assassinated so i wouldn't have mentioned if they haven't been dangling the big red tape in front of me but in point of fact pretty much every presidential assassination or attempted assassination in the history of america was committed by a liberal. some version have entered his communist palestinian extremists and there are a couple who didn't particularly have politics someone include john wilkes booth in that and john hinckley, but envelopes with casey was an actor. he was being hit a piece maugre in and t
strong opinions, shawn hannity, glen beck, bill o'reilly. but even among those three there are very diverse opinions on basics -- basic policy matters and on how hard or soft to treat barak obama. then of course there's a new side when i think is unfailingly fair and balanced. so again to level and add holmen in the fox that discredits a 400-page book? that's ridiculous. host: joining us from iowa independent line good morning. caller: yeah. i just found out who holds her paycheck and i wanted to know if this book, what is your answer to all these questions you have? what is the answer to the corruption in washington? you've got a book out but you don't have any ideas? >> well, guest: well, i think sun light is the best disenfieck tenant and disclosure will help breed disclosure, and i also think very simply that knowledge is power. i think that the american people have not been fully informed about just how much an illusion hope and change the era of hope and change has been, so i think the book is part of the solution. host: another quote from the book, this with regard to secreta
hannity, we didn't have the internet and so there was actually probably a greater net monopoly by abc, nbc, cbs, "the new york times" in that era than there is today. i have two practical pieces of advice for you. the first is sheer repetition. i mean, if you took all of the e-mail addresses in this room, my guess is that collectively you probably represent 60,000 or 100,000 or 200,000 people. you'd be startled how many people you can connect with. so you become the equivalent of a newspaper. and so what reagan did that was -- that was brilliant was he developed very specific ideas. the reason i talked about a 50% reduction in social security and medicare tax is you can go back home and every person who works can calculate how much they would take home next week with that kind of a tax cut. and now it begins to be person personal, and it's not nbc news or "the new york times," it's personal. if i contrast competing with china, which has zero capital gains, why don't we have zero capital gains, every investor and every venture capitalist in america can calculate what zero capital gains woul
